Take a juice can that is left over when making juice from the frozen concentrates (or any can you wish), rinse well. Fill with rice, grain, beans, or what ever sounds best to you. Put glue on the rim of the can, replace onto the can, and place tape to hold it until it is dry (leave sit over night). You can decorate with paper maiche or anyway you wish.

Inflate a small balloon. Apply stips of paper maiche evenly. Watch for air bubbles in the glue and smooth them out. Let it dry. While it is drying, go find a tree branch or a thick piece of wood to use for a handle. It needs to be sturdy enough not to snap when you shake it. When the maiche is dry, pop the balloon and remove it from the shell. Add any materials you wish to form the shake noise you want. Fill it about 1/4 full. put some glue on the end of the stick (You should make the end of the stick as flat as possible) and insert it into the shell. Then you can add more paper maiche around the area where the stick and shell meet to hold it together. Add a couple of layers, let dry, then repeat until the shell is stable on the stick. When it all drys, decorate to you taste.
